BURLINGTON, Vt. -

A Vermont woman convicted of embezzling 1.6 million dollars from her employer may be trying to get out of a deal she made with the state.

Joyce Bellavance is serving time in federal prison for stealing from the Hardwick Electric Department. Originally she agreed to hand over half of her monthly pension as restitution. Federal prosecutors say Bellavance is now trying to back out of the deal, so they've filed a new lawsuit, attempting to garnish her entire pension of 25-hundred dollars a month. She has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
