RUTLAND, Vt. -
Green Mountain Power officials have big plans for a brown field in Rutland.
The City's Economic Development Committee will take a look at the utility's latest proposal to turn a city-managed landfill on Gleason Avenue into a two-megawatt solar field.
Rutland Herald reports GMP is offering the city a flat fee to lease the land for 25 years in their attempt to make Rutland a Solar Generation Capital.
This new plan comes just days before the Public Service Board is expected to hand down its decision on a smaller-scale solar project slated for Cleveland Avenue.
