Waiting for Merrimack

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. -

The UVM men's hockey team hasn't been locked out, the Cats just have a couple of weeks off. Vermont is next in action a week from Friday at Merrimack.  The Catamounts opened the season last Friday skating to a 1-1 tie at UMass Lowell.  At first coach Kevin Sneddon wasn't too happy to have such a long break between games, but now he doesn't mind the schedule as he says it'll give the team more time to build on strengths and fix weaknesses.

Coach Sneddon wouldn't say if Freshman Goalie Brody Hoffman will be starting a week from Friday at Merrimack.  Hoffman certainly made his case, stopping 38 of 39 shots against the River Hawks in his collegiate debut. Hoffman had never played in front of a larger crowd with over 65-hundred in attendance.
