Vermont Corrections officials are warning the public that a high-risk sex offender has been released from prison and they don't know where he is.
Calbraith Macleod served more than 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting his wife and was released on Tuesday. While behind bars, Macleod did not participate in sex offender treatment and would not discuss what he planned to do after being released.
Because he served maximum sentence he is not under supervision of the state, but is required to register as a sex offender. Officials say he has connections in Chittenden and Rutland Counties.
