Today -- 925 million people in the world are hungry. About 25 percent of them are children, and of those, 18-thousand die everyday from malnutrition and hunger-related diseases.
Feed My Starving Children is a program that helps decrease that catastrophic number by putting together mobile packs of food boxes to be sent out to countries in need. This year marks the first year a MobilePack project is taking place in Vermont, packing 125-thousand meals to a needy country.
Mike McCune spoke with Karen Lawrence, the MobilePack event leader for Feed My Starving Children in Vermont.
