It was a close call for a dump truck driver who couldn't stop his truck when coming down a mountain road in Jay.
Police say Casey Cushing of Milton was driving on Route 242 Wednesday afternoon when he drove off the road, hitting several guardrails and trees. Cushing was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the truck. He was treated and released from the hospital.
The 25-year-old told police the brakes on his truck had malfunctioned. The accident is still under investigation.
