RUTLAND, Vt. -
A repeat offender in Rutland is behind bars for stabbing a man outside a downtown bar.
Scott Manfredi is being charged for a second stabbing outside of the Stoplight Lounge on West Street in Rutland. The Rutland Herald reports the 40-year-old stabbed a 48-year-old Rutland man in the back with a five-inch switchblade during an argument last month, but no arrest was made until Thursday when police say Manfredi was overheard bragging about the assault.
Less than one year ago Manfredi was sentenced to 16 months behind bars for stabbing Terry McLaren with a steak knife at the same bar.
Manfredi also served time for starting one of Rutland's most devastating fires in the late 90s.
