
RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - The Rutland Police Department says a city officer was suspended from his job after the Vermont State Police opened a criminal investigation into workers' compensation benefits received by the officer.
In a news release issued Friday, Rutland Police say Officer Joseph Warfle was placed on limited duty status and suspended with pay until the investigation has been completed.
Police did not provide any details about why the investigation was launched or what is being investigated.
The investigation is being led by Vermont State Police Capt. David Covell.
