WINOOSKI, Vt. -
It's the second year for Vermont Hackathon, which is the first one to benefit a state. 127 people from 32 teams showed up to the 24-hour contest Friday, and worked through the night vying for 10-thousand dollars in cash and prizes. Judging criteria included innovation, user experience, presentation, ambition, and execution. Organizers say the goal is to foster a tech community in Vermont.
The winning app was Data Metamorphosis for Vermont Business Landscape. Governor Shumlin declared October "tech Month" in the state. Next weekend, the Champlain Mill will host the Vermont Tech Jam.
