Suspected drunk driver causes Essex pileup

ESSEX, Vt. -

Police in Essex say a suspected drunk driver crashed into multiple cars early Tuesday morning.

It happened in the parking lot for Handy Suites off Susie Wilson Road. Police say 20-year-old Logan Lafferty of Essex crashed into 10 cars. Lafferty was transported to Fletcher Allen Medical Center and processed for DWI.

She has been cited for Gross Negligent Operation but police say more charges are coming. The cost of damages is thought to be over 60 thousand dollars.
