BURLINGTON, Vt. -
There are 14 days left in this election cycle and voters in Vermont still have eight days to register to vote.
You can register at your city or town hall offices. In Burlington, voter registration clerk Margaret Poirier has helped people sign up to vote for 26 years. She said this year's presidential election has brought in hundreds of applications a week. For many Vermonters, she said election day isn't as significant as it used to be because a lot of people have already cast their votes.
"The ones who go to the polls go because they want to. You meet your neighbors and its kind of a social affair. But at a presidential election they don't want to stand in line and during a presidential election those lines get pretty heavy," Poirier said.
Early voting can be done at the city or town hall offices rather than at voting locations in your individual ward.
