JACKSON, N.H. (AP) - Any idea when the first big snowstorm will hit?
The town of Jackson, N.H., is holding a contest.
Interested participants can buy a $2 ticket at the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and other participating organizations. You have to predict when the first 6 inches of snow will arrive in Jackson from one continuous storm.
The winner will get half of the proceeds. The rest will be donated to the Mount Washington Observatory and the New Hampshire Sanctioned Snow Sculpting Competition at Black Mountain in January.
The local chamber is installing a webcam on its office building this week. The snow measuring will take place in the area.
Participants will be able to visit to visit www.JacksonNH.com or www.MountWashingtonObservatory.org to watch the snow.
