BURLINGTON, Vt. -
When you are pulled over or arrested for a crime, a police officers work doesn't end, it just begins. And part of that work includes paperwork and data entry.
Burlington Police officers used to spend a third of their time writing about crime instead of fighting it. So when the BPD's chief went to buy a computer system and couldn't find one he liked, he designed his own. The Valcourt system has proven to be so cost effective, other police departments may now want to use it.
Kristin Carslon spoke with Seven Days Staff Writer Ken Picard about the BPD's new crime fighting tool.
