Hopes are high for the Vermont women's basketball team. Coach Lori Gear McBride returns each of her top five scorers from a season ago, including seniors Shanai Heber and Lauren Buschman, who is back after tearing her ACL last January. Last year's freshman standouts, Tierra Schumpert, Niki Taylor and Kayla Burchill are all back and a year more experienced. Vermont is picked tied for fourth in the America East preseason coaches poll, starting off on the right foot with both Buschman and Lauren Wheeler back from knee injuries.
