Political leaders from all parties across the state are urging residents to remove their campaign yard signs.
With high winds expected as Sandy reaches Vermont Monday afternoon, the signs could easily uproot and become projectiles, potentially damaging people, motor vehicles and windows.
WCAX-TV meteorologists expect wind gusts could reach speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour Monday evening, and then remain gusty through Tuesday. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the North Country; it is in effect from 2pm on Monday through 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
