The state is starting to review the length of the school day and the school calendar to see what changes need to be made.
The new 17-member Education Quality Standards Commission will propose new policies to the state board on everything from new graduation requirements to how much time kids spend in school.
The Times-Argus reports the first meeting of the EQS Commission will be on November 7 from 9 to noon at the Education Department's office on Route 302 in Berlin.
