MONTPELIER, Vt. -
Most of the lights are back on in Vermont and now utility crews are leaving to help in other places hit hard by Superstorm Sandy. Now Governor Shumlin says all state crews are ready and waiting to offer assistance.
Shumlin said Vermont could not have survived Irene without help from other state construction crews. He intends to send Vtrans workers and other assistance to nearby states upon request. Most governors say once they adequately assess the damage they will know how much help is needed. Until then our crews will stay put.
