RUTLAND, Vt. -
Work is beginning on the first project in Green Mountain Power's plan to make Rutland the solar center of New England.
The Public Service Board has approved a 150-kilowatt solar field on Cleveland Avenue in Downtown Rutland.
The Rutland Herald reports SameSun of Vermont is overseeing the project while working with several local contract crews.
GMP says the project should take six to eight weeks to complete.
