Cooking school considered for former mobile home park

A former Burlington chef says he wants to open a cooking school at an abandoned mobile home park in southern Vermont.

Kelly Dietrich owns Dietrichs Trailer park off Route 7A in Arlington. According to the Bennington Banner, Dietrich sent a letter to the town requesting a zoning change, saying he wanted to open a cooking school on the site that offered weeklong classes for kids.

Dietrich has run a cooking school in Highgate for six years but says the trailer park he owns would be a more cost-effective site.

The town says it will consider Dietrich's proposal if he submits a building application.
