Brooks House gets development grant

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. -

Fundraising to rebuild the Brooks House in Brattleboro is nearly complete.

The landmark building in the downtown fell victim to a spring fire in April last year and then flooding from Irene.

The Rutland Herald reports Governor Shumlin awarded the project a $750,000 community development grant to help meet their $22 million price tag for repairs.

Vermont Technical College and CCV plan to move their campuses to the Brooks House when the project is complete.
