Young hunters will take to this woods this weekend hunting for a buck.
The two-day season is meant to get young hunters the training they need to become lifelong hunters. Fish and Wildlife says it's an initiation through family tradition.
They say anyone 15 and younger who has completed a hunter education course can purchase a license and get a free tag. They must be joined by an unarmed adult with a hunting license.
A 2007 survey says 69 percent of young hunters got their start on this weekend.
