MONTPELIER, Vt. -
The Vermont court system says it hopes to reach a settlement soon with a software company over a multi-million dollar case management software system that they say doesn't work.
The state signed a $5 million contract with a Utah company back in 2009 to design an online system that would replace a nearly-20-year-old one.
But it never worked as designed. Now court administrators say they hope to reach a settlement with the vendor, New Dawn Technologies, by the end of the year.
The state has already spent $1.7 million on the software.
