BURLINGTON, Vt. -
At age 12, with the help of an international pen pal organization, Melissa O'Brien met Lena.
The pair began writing hand written letters back and forth and have continued to do so for 36 years. Now a project has come about to document when the pen pals meet face-to-face for the first time.
Mike McCune spoke with O'Brien about this incredible story -- and with her son, Sam McChesney, who is directing the film project to unite pen pals.
