Synthetic drug problem meeting in Rutland

RUTLAND, Vt. -

There's a public meeting tonight to talk about the problem of synthetic drugs like bath salts and huffing in Rutland.

The meeting comes after a popular teenager in the town was killed earlier this fall in a crash allegedly caused by a man who was driving and huffing chemicals.

The Rutland Police Chief says the teen's death has the city searching for answers to the broader problem of drug and chemical abuse.

A Vermont State Police drug recognition expert and a panel of experts on drug treatment and prevention will gather tonight at six at the PEG studio.
