Plans for a new police station are in full swing in Essex.
This Election Day voters approved plans for a nearly $7 million bond to buy land and build a new police station.
Right now the expected location on Maple Street is currently owned by IBM. IBM plans to sell it to the town for $600,000.
The Burlington Free Press reports the select board now needs to submit a formal request and bid on the project.
Town officials say they hope to see the new building complete by summer of 2014.
