Vt. minimum wage going up

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Vermont's minimum wage rate is set to go up at the start of next year.

The regular minimum wage for hourly workers will go from $8.46 to $8.60-- a 14-cent increase.

For employees who work for tips, such as restaurant wait staff, the minimum wage will increase from $4.10 to $4.17.

By law, the increase is pegged to the consumer price index.
