Deadline expansion for employment loss

New Yorkers who lost their job or income due to Hurricane Sandy now have until February 4th to apply for the federal assistance. The assistance supplements New York's existing unemployment insurance system and expands eligibility to include individuals who might otherwise not be covered. Hurricane Sandy caused major damage in New York, especially in the southern part of the state.
