WAITSFIELD, Vt. -
Organizers expect a couple thousand people to browse the offerings at this year's Waitsfield Ski and Skate sale. The fundraiser benefits the elementary school's Parent Teacher Association, and accounts for all of the group's fundraising. It's a daunting task for volunteers, but this year, they expect to bring in between 20 and 30-thousand dollars.
The kid programs funded include a school garden, a winter ski program, artists in residence as well as reading programs. Those involved say they prefer one big effort, rather than selling wrapping paper, chocolate or bulbs. The sale runs until three o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
