It's not often a sailboat snarls interstate traffic.
But Monday night on Interstate 89, a 28-foot sailboat slid off its trailer in the southbound lane in Richmond. Police say the driver lost control of his truck and the trailer began to swerve, pulling the truck with it.
The boat was thrown from the trailer onto the highway, blocking both lanes and halting traffic during rush hour. Both lanes reopened just after 7 p.m.
The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say alcohol and speed were not factors in the crash.
