First Vt. administration budget session is Tuesday

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Officials with Gov. Peter Shumlin's administration will be taking testimony from the public on what the fiscal 2014 budget should look like.

The first of two sessions goes from 5:15-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Vermont Interactive Television studios in Bennington, Lyndonville, Newport, Rutland, St. Albans, White River Junction, Williston and Montpelier.

The second will go from 4:45-6:45 p.m. on Nov. 19 at VIT studios in Bennington, Brattleboro, Johnson, Lyndonville, Middlebury, Montpelier, Newport, Randolph Center, Rutland, Springfield, St. Albans, White River Junction and Williston.

Finance and Management Commissioner Jim Reardon says the administration wants public input on the state's budget priorities as it prepares a spending plan to present to lawmakers in January.
