SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
More job cuts at GE Healthcare in
South Burlington-- though how many is unclear.
The Vermont location specializes in
developing information technology for the health care industry. About 850
people worked there when GE bought out IDX Systems in 2005. There have been
several job cuts since then, including at least two others earlier this year.
WCAX News received numerous reports of
more job cuts Wednesday, but the company would only say: "GE Healthcare
can confirm that it is looking at ways to streamline its structure and reduce
costs through different ways, including removing duplication and layers in the
organization. This will reduce complexity, speed up decision making and help us
become more accessible for our customers. Taking these actions will position GE
Healthcare well for 2013 and beyond."
