Springfield man pleads guilty to apartment arson

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. -

A Springfield man charged with setting his own apartment building on fire has pled guilty.

Police say 48-year old Steven Kuchta set a blaze in a common area at 12 Valley Street back in April, endangering a mother and two children.

No one was hurt and tenants are still living in the building.

Kuchta was sentenced to 2-8 years in prison and has to pay for damage to the complex.
