MILTON, Vt. -
A water main break is forcing Milton schools to close early today.
The break happened around noon on Ritchie Avenue, cutting off water to both the elementary and high schools, and other parts of town.
The schools started busing students out at 12:35 p.m. School officials tell us all the children should be home by about 2 p.m.
The town hopes to have the main fixed by 7 p.m.
If there is still no water Friday, school will be canceled for a second day.
About 1,900 students attend the Milton schools.
