ESSEX, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man has been arrested after police say he tried to retrieve a package containing a pound of marijuana that had been delivered to a wrong address.
Police say a woman in Essex Town received a suspicious package delivered by UPS on Wednesday. Authorities say she didn't recognize the return address and when she opened it she realized it was most likely contraband.
She brought the package to police who determined that it contained 1 pound of marijuana.
While police were trying to find the suspect, who had a similar name as the woman's, police say he called the residence and said he was on his way to pick up his package.
John Monica, 29, of Burlington, was arrested and jailed on possession of marijuana and an outstanding warrant.
