Potential program losses with fiscal cliff

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

Governor Peter Shumlin warns if the country does go over the fiscal cliff, Vermont programs will be left hanging in the balance. The governor says that because so many of Vermont's publicly funded programs are supplemented by the federal government if cuts are made all are at risk of being on the chopping block. Stocks advanced for the first time in four days after Congressional leaders spoke optimistically about reaching an agreement.
