Thundering Falls Boardwalk reopens

Posted: Updated:
KILLINGTON, Vt. -

A piece of the Appalachian Trail washed out by Irene is reopening to the public.

The Thundering Falls Boardwalk in Killington was washed out when the Ottauquechee River overflowed it's banks during Tropical Storm Irene. The trail links spectators to spectacular views and is also wheelchair accessible.

The Green Mountain Club's Long Trail Patrol crew and U.S. Forest Service helped rebuild the walkway so the trail could reopen.
