RUTLAND TOWN, Vt. -
Two Rutland County towns are teaming up to keep the roads clear this winter.
Rutland Town and West Rutland have agreed to share road salt operations this winter.
The Rutland Herald is reporting the two towns split the $6,000 costs for equipment.
The West Rutland road foreman expects to see a $60,000 savings on their salt budget if the project goes well. Rutland town officials say they will most likely break even, but should see savings in the future, if it continues.
