SHELBURNE, Vt. -
Holiday crowds were out in full force the last few days.
Folks started flooding the big box stores as early as Thursday night and continued hunting for deals throughout the weekend.
Small businesses have also benefited. At the Arabesque gift shop in Shelburne, Black Friday sales were about even with last year. But the store's Tracy Stolese said they saw a big boom on "Small Business Saturday" -- with a doubling of sales over last year.
"We had a very busy weekend, actually. I would say Friday was on par with last year, but Saturday was much busier than last year and I think people are finally getting on board with this Small Business Saturday idea, it definitely seemed to benefit us," she said.
