Saranac Lake man charged with lying about shooting

SARANAC LAKE, N.Y. -

A Saranac Lake man is charged with lying to police about a shooting that led to a manhunt.

William Martin, 55, was arrested Tuesday. Police say he called 911 last week, reporting he was robbed and shot was walking along railroad tracks. But after looking for a gunman all night long, police decided Martin was lying and they believe he shot himself in the shoulder on purpose.
