SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. -
A group founded by former Vermont Governor Howard Dean is weighing in on the fiscal cliff debate.
South Burlington-based Democracy for America is calling for people to sign a petition against any cuts in Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
They're also pressuring Senate Democrats to reject any deal extending the Bush-era tax cuts for those making more than $250,000.
The group is joining forces with Senator Bernie Sanders. It hopes to collect 50,000 signatures for the petition to present to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
