Rite Aid robber gets jail sentence

WEST RUTLAND, Vt. -

A St. Albans man is headed to jail for holding up a drugstore in West Rutland earlier this year.

Christopher McCarthy, 43, was arrested back in February after passing a note to the pharmacist at the Rite Aid claiming he had a gun and demanding prescription pills.

He was sentenced to more than three years in jail and three years of supervised release.
