In 2009, the University of Vermont was faced with a $1.1 million shortfall in its athletic department. One of the most controversial parts of their plan to erase that deficit was the elimination of the varsity baseball program; a program that had been around for over a century.
A group formed called Friends of UVM Baseball, working to bring baseball back to Vermont. Ed Hockenbury and Jim Carter are two members of the Friends of UVM Baseball group and stopped by to tell us their plans for bringing back baseball to the Green Mountains. Watch the video for more.
