BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Three recounts are currently under way following the November election -- two of which are in St. Albans.

The Franklin county clerk held a recount in the race for an open seat in the Vermont House Thursday. Unofficial results yield no change. In the general election -- democrat Mike McCarthy beat republican Casey Toof by 20 votes. The recount has McCarthy beating Toof by 15 votes. The recount for the Franklin County senate seat begins Friday and is expected to take at least three days.

"If there's any difference they have to do it over, sometimes that happens, it's a laborious process but its a very accurate process," explained Franklin County Clerk Jim Pelkey.

The other recount underway is for a house seat in Orleans county. That is expected to begin December 5th.
