MALONE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a parolee found dead in a stolen car parked at a northern New York store may have died from a drug overdose.
Police in the village of Malone tell the Press-Republican of Plattsburgh that an employee at the Kmart found the body of 25-year-old Brad Eggsware inside the car Thursday afternoon in the store's parking lot.
Police say drug paraphernalia was found inside the vehicle, but an official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy being conducted at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Officials say Eggsware was released from state prison in September after serving time for burglary and assaulting a Tupper Lake police officer in March 2006.
Police say Eggsware had been living with his mother in Troy and traveled to Tupper Lake, where he stole the car on Monday.
