2 Vt. Powerball tickets worth thousands

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

They didn't win the historic jackpot, but Vermont Lottery officials say two people who bought tickets in Vermont did have winning Powerball tickets.

A $40,000 ticket was sold at Hannaford in Burlington, and a $10,000 ticket was sold at Finelli's Deli & Quick Stop, also in Burlington.

The winning tickets both matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball for the Nov. 28 drawing. But one ticketholder quadrupled their winnings by adding the $1 Power Play option.

The winning numbers from that drawing were 5-16-22-23-29 and the Powerball was 6.
