Vt. police track burglary suspect

FAIRFAX, Vt. -

Police in Franklin County spent Monday night hot on the trail of a suspected burglar.

It started in Georgia. Officers responded to a burglary at the "Hair Designs" Salon. When cops arrived, the suspect fled in a car and eventually crashed during the chase. At that point the suspect fled on foot and hid in a garage in Fairfax until he was spooked by the owner.

Police spent the better part of Tuesday using K-9s to track the suspect in the woods, but the scent dried up.

At some point during the night, an off-duty Colchester police officer also spotted the fugitive and recognized him as a suspect in several recent armed robberies. If you have information, call police.
