NEWPORT, Vt. -
The biotech company with its sights set on the Northeast Kingdom is now doubling its original jobs promise.
AnC Bio is working with Vermont developers to build a plant in Newport, and now the company expects to create 450 permanent jobs and 50 seasonal-- almost double their original expectations.
The company develops and manufactures artificial organs and says it will need more space than originally thought.
Construction is set to begin next year.
