A holiday tradition has returned to Plymouth, thanks to the U.S. Postal Service.
The Plymouth Post Office is offering a special stamp cancellation to mark the town's 2012 Annual Coolidge Holiday Open House. Stamp cancellations are marks put on stamps once a letter has been mailed. The stamp cancellation is usually done by machine at a postal facility.
This is the 14th year of the commemorative hand stamp from Plymouth. Each year the cancellation has a new design made by a local Vermont artist.
"I'll do about 500 today and for the next 30 days I'll do more. Mostly later on will be from collectors -- those who want to have them in their own collection," said Plymouth Postmaster Melissa Lynds.
If you'd like to have your holiday cards hand stamped, you can mail them with a self addressed stamped envelope to the Plymouth Post Office (236 Coolidge Memorial Road, Plymouth, VT 05056) or you can stop by in person.
