Serial bank robber sentenced

RUTLAND, Vt. -

A Vermont woman who robbed five banks in Vermont and New York has been sentenced.

30 year old Jill Ludwig, of Castleton, will spend three years in federal prison. She was facing up to 20 years. Ludwig also must pay $21,000 in restitution.

She and her boyfriend, 30 year old John Maynard, were charged with robbing the banks in Vermont and New York last fall to support their heroin addiction.

Maynard will be sentenced later this month.
