A candlelight vigil will be held at New York Congressman Bill Owens's office in Plattsburgh Monday.
Organizers are urging Owens to say no to any cuts in benefits to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security and to end tax cuts to the richest two percent of Americans. Democrats and Republicans are trying to negotiate a budget deal that would across the board tax increases and drastic spending cuts.
The vigil will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on the corner of Durkee and Broad Streets.
